My book diet consists of True Crime & Thrillers, with a sprinkling of Young Adult and random Contemporary Fiction to balance out the murder. I’m making an attempt to record my book reads this year; both to push myself to broaden my reading selection, and as a fun experiment to see how quickly I hit my goal of 75 books.
I’ve done quite well so far (five books read in January), and as a way to keep myself accountable, I’ll be listing reviews of my monthly faves here!
JANUARY –
My favorite book in the fist month of the year, was ‘Bunny’ by Mona Awad. It was shocking, violent, and took place within an MFA program. A quick read, the pages flew by as I tried to get a grasp on reality in a deliciously confusing way. Highly recommend it. Although you’ve probably read it. ‘Bunny’ was a nominee for Goodreads Choice Awards Best Horror in 2019. Give it a try, I dare you.
APRIL
OK- clearly I did not keep up with this portion of my blog. But, I have been reading. It is a well known series that does not need an introduction, but Sarah J Maas, A Court of Thorns and Roses.
I raced through the entire ACOTAR series and I understand the hype! I raced through each book and highly recommend ACOMAF. They are dark fantasy with adult content, royalty, humans, faeries, all of it. If you have been living under a rock like myself, and have not read this series, add it to your TBR, You will thank me later.
